Programme Description

Learners presenting prior experiential learning from a 5-day business, management and leadership course at Level 3 must demonstrate knowledge and skills consistent with competence in routine, supervised workplace tasks. Evidence should reflect developing understanding, the ability to follow guidance, and emerging confidence in contributing to business and team activities.

Learning Outcomes

1. Knowledge and Understanding Learners should show: 


• Basic awareness of how organisations function, including simple roles, responsibilities and customer or stakeholder needs. 


• Understanding of introductory management concepts such as task planning, clear communication, teamwork and simple problem- solving. 


• Awareness of leadership behaviours such as positive attitude, reliability and supporting others.


2. Application of Skills in Practice Learners must demonstrate: 


• The ability to carry out straightforward business or administrative tasks based on instructions or models provided during the 5-day course. 


• Use of simple planning tools (e.g., checklists, basic action plans) to organise tasks or contribute to group activities. 


• Participation in team exercises, demonstrating cooperation, willingness to contribute and respect for others’ roles. 


3. Developing Leadership Behaviours Learners should evidence: 


• Taking responsibility for small tasks under supervision. 


• Communicating clearly and appropriately within a group setting. 


• Offering ideas, supporting peers and showing initiative when prompted. 


4. Professional Competence Learners should demonstrate: 


• Consistent attendance, punctuality and professional behaviour during course activities or related workplace tasks. 


• Ability to follow procedures, meet simple deadlines and complete work to an acceptable standard. 


• Accurate note-taking, recording of activities or completion of basic documentation. 


5. Reflective Learning Learners must show: 


• A brief reflective account of what was learned during the 5-day course. 


• Awareness of personal strengths, challenges and areas for improvement. Ability to explain how the short course helped build confidence or competence in business, management or leadership.
